Talae Akei Thomas is facing one count of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated child abuse. She is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
According to a Plant City Police Department report officers found Thomas laying in the median near the intersection of West Grant and South Alexander streets just after 11 p.m. Thursday night.
Thomas was at first unresponsive. A short time after their arrival she allegedly told officers that she had lost her baby and was in need of medical attention.
A check of Thomas' nearby apartment turned up the body of Chase James Urijah Harrison.
During her first appearance on Saturday a circuit court judge read from a probable cause affidavit filed in the case. Chase died from an apparent drowning.
Officers found the baby submerged in a child's bath tub.
The report states Thomas told officers that her baby died five weeks ago at the hospital and that she brought home the devil.
Before she was charged and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail Thomas was taken to South Baptist Hospital in Plant City for an evaluation.
