ATLANTA -

The toddler who was injured by a falling tree limb at his Winder daycare continues to show improvement.

Tripp Halstead's parents posted on Facebook that the 2-year-old has had all the tubes removed from his face area and only has a line and drain left. Stacy Halstead, Tripp's mother, said that it was the first time she'd seen the boy without tubes since the day of the accident.

"Just because we could see his whole little face -- it was just the sweetest thing ever. He looked like our baby without the tubes and wrapping and the tape. It was so nice," said Stacy Halstead.

The community has come together to support the Halstead family through various fundraisers after a large tree limb fell onto him on Oct. 29.

Tripp, who loves the movie "Cars," will have his own racecar this weekend in Miami in the last NASCAR race of the season. The owner of SR2 Motorsports, Jason Sciavicco of Gwinnett County, said he saw Tripp's story on the news and wanted to help.

"Obviously we're really taken aback by the whole story, and we have four kids. We have a 20-month-old boy, almost 2 years old, so it really hit home for us. And we talked about it and really wanted to try and do something to help the family," Sciavicco said.

The car is painted to promote Team Boom, the charity that was established to help Tripp's parents with his medical bills.

Millions of people will see the car this weekend.  The hope is to raise enough money to allow his mom to stay at home during his recovery.

"This is a long road that's ahead of them. Many months, if not years, that's going to take  attending to Tripp to help get him back to what he was, and I know from a father's standpoint, there's nothing more important that I would want than my wife to be at my son's side," said Sciavicco.

Blake Koch will drive the car dedicated to Tripp during the nationwide race in Homestead, Florida.

Tripp's parents have been appreciative of all the support.

"Today I got a message from Israel that people wanted his whole name so they could pray for him over there in Israel," said Bill Halstead, Tripp's father.

On Tuesday, the Winder Zaxby's hosted a fundraiser that has raised more than $2,000.
