Hot Topic: Reality shows

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Many reality shows are popular, and whether you like them or not, you've probably found yourself watching one.

From the Real Housewives of Atlanta to Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Georgia and its citizens are on display. But some say that may not be a good thing.

Trina Braxton stars in one of the more tame reality shows shot in the metro area, Braxton Family Values. She's says she sees both the advantages and disadvantages of the city becoming such a TV star.

Atlanta native Kelly Smith Beaty was once a reality show participant herself. She was in season 10 of The Apprentice. She says our kids are paying a price.

"The scary part about that is that when we talk to our children or when we talk to teachers who are right in the frontlines of what the future of Atlanta will look, it's beginning to mirror what's happening on our television sets," said Beaty.

The shows appear to be staying on network lineups for some time to come.

So, in today's Hot Topic question, we want to know: What is your reality show guilty pleasure?  Post your responses on our FOX 5 Atlanta Facebook page, tweet us @GoodDayAtlanta, or email us at goodday@myfoxatlanta.com! We'll read some of your responses during the 9 am hour of Good Day Atlanta.
