
Dozens of local organizations helping veterans will march in Monday's VA Hospital Parade – held each year to honor those who have served our country.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. on the hospital grounds at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
"We're just very honored, and we think it's a great privilege to take
care of our veterans," said Carolyn Clark of the VA Hospital.
There will be an address by hospital director Kathleen Fogarty and a cookout following the ceremony. The parade will march for a mile.
Here is the route if you'd like to attend:
1. Participants park in the Parking Garage located on Richard A. Silver Way
2. Parade line-up in the Freedom Parking Lot
3. Parade exits south entrance of the Freedom Parking Lot at 10:00 a.m.
4. Parade turns right onto Livingston Avenue crossing 131st avenue entering
the hospital campus via the back gate entrance (beginning of Richard A. Silver
Way)
5. Parade route proceeds on Richard A. Silver Way
6. Parade turns left in front of the Fisher House (and Reviewing Stand); and
disburses in the Patient/Visitor Parking (Diamond) Lot.
