PALM HARBOR (FOX 13) -
A local fallen soldier was honored this weekend at a special
event in Palm Harbor.
A color guard from MacDill Air Force Base presented an
American flag to St. Petersburg Assistant Police Chief Cedric Gordon, whose
daughter, Brittany, was killed last month while serving in Afghanistan.
"This is the first time something like this has impacted my
life, changed my life, and I'm going to do everything in my power the rest of
my life to make sure I do everything possible to support veterans all over this
country," Cedric Gordon said at the Ladies PGA Legends Tour Championship.
Gordon was the Bay area's first female soldier killed in
combat in Iraq or Afghanistan.
