There's another thing to be thankful this Thanksgiving: lower gas prices.
Driver Mary McMahon is smiling.
"If gas prices continue to stay low, it will be any early Christmas present for me," McMahon said.
The national average right now is $3.49 a gallon, and it is a lot less locally -- around $3.27 a gallon.
That's down eight cents in one week. Gasbuddy.com, which analyzes energy trends says there are number of reasons for it.
Refineries switched to a winter blend, which is cheaper to make because it has less additives.
There is also less demand this time of the year. Add in a weaker economy with less demand, and bottom line is: we just have more of it.
From October 8th to November 8th gas prices have dropped 33 cents. That's a savings of about $5, for a 15 gallon fill up.
Rita Myers has an even bigger tank: 26 gallons. What she saves at the pump, she can spend elsewhere. We found her at best buy looking at DVDs, CDs, and other stocking stuffers.
"A little extra money for Christmas gifts," Myers said.
