A local high school band is leaving the Bay area Thursday in hopes of bringing home a national championship.
The Tarpon Springs High School outdoor music ensemble loaded up all their gear and costumes on busses, heading to Indianapolis where they'll compete in the grand national championship.
More than 90 bands will be there from around the country vying for the top prize – a chance to play at the 2014 Tournament of Roses parade.
The band won the title of grand champions in the super regional competition in Atlanta.
