BARTOW (FOX 13) -
A Polk County woman and her unborn baby were killed in a two-car crash Sunday night.
It happened around 10:15 at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven.
Investigators say 37 year-old Thomas Jeremy Dick crashed into the back of a minivan with four people inside.
One of the passengers, 19-year-old Tiffany Ann Woodham, died from her injuries. According to the sheriff's office, Woodham was nine months pregnant with a baby girl. An emergency C-section was performed, but the infant also died from her injuries.
Dick, who is from Tulsa, Oklahoma, faces numerous DUI-related charges. He is hospitalized and in custody. He will be transferred to the Polk County Jail upon his medical release.
The driver of the mini-van was treated for cuts and bruises; the two other passengers had serious but non-life threatening injuries.
