Pedestrian fatally struck in St. Pete

Police in St. Petersburg say a man was killed early Monday morning while trying to cross the road at 34th Street and 1st Avenue South.

He was struck by a Toyota sedan around 1:30 a.m., and investigators say the driver was not at fault.

The man, who has not been identified, stumbled out in front of the driver on a green light. He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
