LAKELAND (FOX 13) -
A Polk County teenager died Sunday morning from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Lakeland.
Steven E. Altman, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 9:30 a.m.
According to a Lakeland Police Department report Altman was traveling south on North Socrum Loop Rd. when a 2002 Mercury Marquis pulled out in front of his motorcycle.
Investigators say 73-year-old Mary J. Yon of Lakeland was initiating a left hand turn onto West Daughtrey Rd. when the incident occurred.
Atlman's motorcycle struck the right side of the vehicle. Polk County Emergency Medical Service personnel tended to the injured man.
Yon was not injured. There was no evidence of impairment on the part of either driver the report states.
So far no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
