A 58-year-old Bay area man has died from injuries suffered in a vehicle crash last month.
Thomas Gregory Hirsch passed away late Thursday at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
He was critically injured when the bicycle he was operating was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bryan Dairy and Starkey roads on October 22nd.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Hirsch was attempting to cross Bryan Dairy Rd. when he was hit. Investigators say he was traveling in a marked crosswalk when a 2004 Pontiac Vibe driven by Gina Marie Andrews knocked him from the bike and onto the pavement.
Hirsch violated Andrews right-of-way the report states. He was not wearing a helmet. He was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital.
No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
