SARASOTA (FOX 13) -

A 47-year-old man is in the Sarasota County Jail facing two counts of grand theft stemming from the thefts of two laptop computers from an area Wal-Mart store.

Gregory Paul Alfieri is being held on a bond of $40,000.

According to a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office report the incidents occurred last month at the retail store on Cattleman Rd. Investigators say the suspect entered the Wal-Mart at 4381 Cattleman Rd. on October 17th and October 23rd at approximately 2 a.m.

In both instances surveillance cameras show Alfieri removing a security device from the computers. He then places them in the front of his pants and departs the store without paying for the items.

He is seen getting into a vehicle and driving away.

The suspect, who is homeless, has been arrested a total of 11 times in the past three years. Alfieri's prior arrests include drug, robbery and fraud charges.

He has been classified by law enforcement in Sarasota County as a habitual offender. Manatee County authorities also want to talk to him about a pair of 2010 arrests in their jurisdiction.

Alfieri is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on November 30th.
