Authorities in Polk County are asking for the public's assistance in tracking down a hit-and-run suspect whose actions sent two people to the hospital early Friday morning.
The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on Lake Howard Dr. Southwest in Winter Haven.
According to a Winter Haven Police Department report Marilyn Black was traveling south in her 2001 Cadillac when a dark green and tan Ford Expedition crossed the center line of the roadway.
The suspect vehicle impacted the front of Black's vehicle causing significant damage. Black, 52, and her passenger, 68-year-old Amos Robinson, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Winter Haven Hospital where they were treated and released.
Both Black and Robinson reside in Winter Haven the report states.
The driver of the Expedition fled the scene without stopping. Investigators say two men were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The driver is described as being a Hispanic male with short hair and a chin-strap style beard. The passenger was a heavyset black male.
