CLEARWATER BEACH (FOX 13) -

A hotel in Clearwater was evacuated after an overnight fire.

The fire broke out just after 11 p.m. in a storage shed behind the Flipperz Beach Shop on Gulfview Boulevard in Clearwater Beach.

It was filled with T-shirts and other souvenirs, many of which are now destroyed. The shed is also right next door to the Pelican Point Hotel, and firefighters evacuated the entire first floor out of precaution.

The hotel wasn't damaged, but it did lose power for several hours.

No word yet on the cause of the fire.
