SPRING HILL (FOX 13) -

Authorities in Pasco County have released the identity of a woman who was shot and killed by two off-duty law enforcement officers following a bizarre incident Saturday in Spring Hill.

Inga Marie Swanson, 42, died from multiple gunshot wounds just after 1 p.m. near a residence in the 9000 block of Orchard Parkway.

According to a Hernando County Sheriff's Office report Swanson was naked and acting irrational when she approached some folks having a party. She left but later returned when she encountered Hernando County Sheriff's Office detective Rocky Howard and Tampa Police officer William Mechler.

The report states Swanson was armed when she was shot by Howard, 31, and Mechler, 26. Authorities have not said what the deceased woman was armed with.

Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave while officials with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigate.

A background check shows Swanson had no prior brushes with law enforcement. It also shows she once lived at 9003 Orchard Way, not far from where she died. Since 1988 Swanson had resided at residences in Pasco, Hernando and Hillsborough counties.

No other information is available as the investigation continues.
