TAMPA (FOX 13) -

A 27-year-old Tampa man died early Sunday morning from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75.

Gregorio Feliz was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report the incident occurred in the southbound lanes of the roadway just south of Bruce B. Downs Blvd at approximately 4 a.m.

Investigators say Feliz was driving a 1994 Isuzu pick-up truck when for unknown reasons he shifted into the center lane, sideswiping a semi-tractor trailer in the process.

Both vehicles began to rotate as they traveled onto the grass shoulder. The semi-tractor trailer flipped over and came down on the pick-up truck.

The driver of the semi, 54-year-old Juan Esquivel of Tampa, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle, Zaragoza Alvarez, a 61-year-old Tampa resident, also suffered minor injuries.

No charges have been filed as the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
