GULFPORT (FOX 13) -
Police in Gulfport have arrested the owner of Gulfport Hardware, the store that caught fire Thursday night.
Two police officers drove by and saw smoke and flames coming from the building. It took firefighters most of the night to put out the flames.
Fire investigators said it was arson, and Friday afternoon, they arrested the owner.
David Cretella has owned the hardware store for the past seven years. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where he is being held on $10,000 bond.
The fire caused more than a half-million dollars in damages. No one was hurt.
