Neighborhood on edge after attack on jogger

PALM HARBOR (FOX 13) -

Deputies have released a composite sketch of a man connected to an attack on a Palm Harbor woman weeks ago.

The incident has kept a neighborhood on edge. It happened Sept. 26 around 8:30 p.m. Detectives say the woman was jogging and walking along Brian Road South when a man grabbed her from behind, put her in a choke hold and tackled her.

Investigators then say he touched her inappropriately. The woman screamed, and then the man took off.

"Something obviously spooked this individual, at one point the woman let out a scream," said Cecelia Barreda of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. "She never got a good look at him. He was wearing shorts no shirt, and he was wearing dark sneakers – described him as having some curly hair."

A neighbor got a good look at the man's face, which helped in making the sketch. If you recognize the man, call authorities immediately.

Also, deputies remind people it's probably a good idea to walk and jog in pairs, especially at night.
