The vehicle jumped the curb and slammed into the building on Gulf to Bay Blvd. in Clearwater Saturday afternoon.
CLEARWATER (FOX 13) -
An elderly Bay area man hit the gas instead of the brake on his car Saturday afternoon and drove through the front window of a Clearwater Laundromat.
Fortunately nobody was injured.
According to a City of Clearwater report the incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. at the Gulf to Bay Coin Laundry at 2009 Gulf to Bay Blvd.
Jabe Molinaro was inside the business when the vehicle came crashing through.
"I was sitting there folding some clothes when I heard some people screaming outside," he said. "Then I looked outside, saw the car jump the curb, grabbed my mother and ran out of there."
There was a bunch of broken glass but no structural damage to the building. The vehicle was towed away from the scene.
The driver was issued a citation for careless driving.
