
The crime occurred just after 4 a.m. on September 24th at the Family Dollar store on New Tampa Highway.Authorities in Polk County are asking for the public's assistance in tracking down a pair of suspects who broke into a Lakeland Family Dollar store and stole a safe.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of September 24th.
The retail outlet is located at 3903 New Tampa Highway.
According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office report two men pried open the front door of the business just after 4 a.m. They went directly to the safe, pulled it to the front door and loaded into a small, black-colored vehicle.
Surveillance cameras indicate the pair backed the car up to the store before they broke in.
Officials with Family Dollar say there have been three similar incidents at their stores in the area. Prior to the September 24th crime the previous incident occurred at the company's Dover location.
Investigators believe the suspects are Hispanic or white males. Both men stand approximately 6' tall with large builds. They were wearing hoods over their heads and gloves on their hands during the commission of the crime.
