A crash Tuesday morning involving four semi-trucks caused major delays on southbound I-75 at Bruce B. Downs.
Fox 13's Alcides Segui reports the crash happened around 5 a.m., and it caused a backup of nearly four miles at one point. However, the lanes have been reopened and traffic was moving slowly.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say a driver in a small vehicle cut off a tractor trailer, causing him to swerve out of the way and slam into a concrete barrier. The force of the crash was so great it caused the rear axles to rip off, which then caused three other tractor trailers to crash.
There were no major injuries, police said. A driver of one of the semis was cited after about 50 gallons of fuel was spilled into the road.
Drivers should still expect delays in the area Tuesday.
