USF police investigating reported sexual assault

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Police are stepping up security on the University of South Florida campus, where another rape has been reported.

It is the second one in three weeks.

According to the USF Police Department, a woman reported Sunday that she was assaulted by a man she knows at Epsilon Hall, a freshman dorm.

So far no one has been arrested or charged.

Investigators won't say whether they have contacted or interviewed the person involved in the sexual assault.

This attack comes on the heels of another rape that happened last month where a female student was sexually assaulted at the kappa hall residence.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is analyzing evidence from that case.

In the meantime, USF Police say they are increasing patrols and making more checks of the residence halls, especially in the evening hours.
