The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating whether any drivers were to blame for a massive pile-up on Interstate 75 on Friday.
Forty-seven different vehicles were involved in an accident that unfolded on the southbound lanes of the interstate near the Manatee-Sarasota County line. Twelve separate collisions occurred, injuring 52 people. No fatalities were reported.
Several FHP investigators are currently conducting crash reports from all of the accidents. Once the separate investigations are complete, FHP will compile the information and decide if any drivers should be cited for contributing to the pile-up.
FHP hopes to have all of the initial crash reports from the accident complete by the end of this week.
