BRADENTON (FOX 13) -
Deputies in Manatee County believe a body found in a lake this morning was a homeless person.
It was around 9:15 a.m. when deputies were called to the Bayshore on the Lake condominiums on Lake Bayshore Drive in Bradenton. A body was floating in a lake several feet from shore.
Deputies say they were able to tentatively identify the body as a 56-year-old person known to be homeless. They were waiting to officially release the victim's ID until they could notify family members.
There was no obvious signs of trauma to the body and an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, the sheriff's office added.
