ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -
St. Petersburg City Council members want a report on the proposed addition of red light cameras at several intersections in the city.
Last year, a divided city council narrowly approved using red light cameras in the city.
But one of those voting "yes" says there was an understanding the number of cameras would not change for at least a year.
Wednesday, city transportation director Joe Kubicki said the additional cameras would mostly appear at intersections where cameras are already installed, and would point in different directions.
But there are three intersections without any cameras that will have them installed: along U.S. 19 at 5th and 22 Avenues North, and 66th Street at 13th Avenue North.
