Where was convicted murderer Leon Davis the night that two convenience store clerks in Lake Alfred were shot?
On the witness stand Tuesday, Davis said he was nowhere near the crime scene. He said he was in Lake Wales -- shopping.
"The bottom line question I have is: Do you have anything that you can offer to us that will corroborate your statement that you were at the Eagle Ridge Mall, shopping at Dillard's and maybe other stores?" asked Assistant State Attorney Paul Wallace.
"The shirts and the other clothes," replied Davis. "That's all I have."
Davis said he has no receipts, and didn't run into anyone the night of Friday, December 7, 2007, who could vouch for him.
Davis has already been convicted of killing two Lake Wales women and an unborn child by setting them on fire. That incident happened a week after the convenience store clerks were shot.
In an unusual move, Davis rejected a jury trial. Instead, a judge will decide his innocence or guilt.
The judge may hand down a verdict before the end of the week.
