Driver slams into fallen tree

A driver going down a dark roadway narrowly escaped injury after running into a large tree that had fallen in the middle of the street.

The accident happened around midnight.

The tree fell into the road at the corner of Lithia Pinecrest road and East Robertson Street.

The driver didn't see it and apparently ran right into it, but wasn't injured.

County workers spent the morning working to remove the tree.
