Authorities in Pasco County have located and arrested an arson suspect.
Robert Benjamin Brooks, 40, was apprehended just before 2 p.m. Sunday not far from the residence he allegedly set on fire.
According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report the suspect ignited the blaze using gasoline as an accelerant and then took off.
The residence at 21620 Teal Court in Land O' Lakes is Brooks' home address according to a recent arrest report. Brooks was arrested on Wednesday on a domestic battery by strangulation charge.
He was released a day later after posting a bond of $5,000.
A witness reported seeing Brooks ignite the fire on Sunday.
Investigators say two people were inside the home at the time but they managed to get out with injury. The suspect is believed to be related to the folks who were inside the residence when he allegedly started the fire.
A handful of Pasco County Sheriff's Office Units pursued Brooks on the ground and in the air before finding him.
Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
