Bradley, 36, was booked into the Sarasota County Jail on Saturday morning. He is facing one count of domestic battery.
NORTH PORT (FOX 13) -
A 36-year-old Sarasota County man was arrested Saturday morning following a short standoff with the North Port Police Department.
James Dean Bradley was booked into the Sarasota County Jail on a domestic battery charge. He is being held without bond pending his first appearance before a judge.
According to a North Port Police Department report officers were dispatched to 7138 Natchez Court just after 5 a.m. in response to a family disturbance call.
Investigators say Bradley battered his girlfriend and threatened ‘suicide by cop;' by the time authorities arrived at the scene all occupants of the home except for the suspect and his young son had exited.
North Port PD negotiates managed to reach Bradley via telephone and he peacefully surrendered a short time later. The boy was released to his mother.
Bradley was already on community control probation for a conviction earlier this year on a child neglect charge.
