Police: Auburndale woman fails to arrive at destination

Authorities in Polk County are seeking information on a missing Auburndale woman.

Josephine Lashua, 76, boarded a Greyhound Bus in Lakeland on Thursday morning. She was supposed to arrive in Lewiston, Maine to visit relatives but when it arrived Friday night the elderly woman was not on it.

According to a Lakeland Police Department report Lashua is seen at the Orlando Greyhound bus station boarding a bus to Jacksonville, but that's where she apparently went missing.

A clerk with Greyhound recalled selling a ticker to an ‘older female' but did not see her get on the bus to Savannah, Ga. Ms. Lashua stands 5'5'' tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds.

She has long grey hair and was last seen wearing a purple windbreaker with a turquoise collar and cuffs, blue jeans and a grey Charlie's Angels shirt.

Ms. Lashua lives with her son in Auburndale the report states. Investigators say she had no identification with her and no cell phone. She left on the trip with $20, a Wal-Mart bag with some personal belongings and her son's phone number written on a piece of paper in her pocket.
