There some good news for Tampa drivers, for once: the Columbus Drive bridge is open.
The bridge carries traffic over the Hillsborough River, connecting west Tampa and Tampa Heights. It's undergone a nearly $9-million renovation and been restored to its historical appearance.
The Columbus Drive bridge is one of only two bobtail swing bridges left in Florida. It opens to the side, instead of raising up.
It was built in 1927.
