Bucs-Redskins game blacked out

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA (FOX 13) -

The NFL's regular refs may be back this weekend, but the Bucs aren't -- at least not on TVs in the Bay Area.  The Bucs-Redskins game is blacked out.

Once again, the home game failed to sell out to the NFL-required 85-percent level, so the game will not be aired in the Tampa market.

That means Bucs fans will miss seeing their team in action against one of the league's most dynamic rookies, the Redskins' Robert Griffin III.  Unless, of course, they want to head to Raymond James Stadium.

FOX 13 had planned to air the Bucs game at 1 as the first part of a doubleheader, but league rules regarding blackouts mean we cannot air two games.  So we'll only be airing the Saints-Packers game at 4:25.
