It's a battle our brave veterans should not have to fight.
After fighting to protect our country, losing comrades and coming home with injuries that will last the rest of their lives, we've found it can take years for vets to get Department of Veterans Affairs benefits.
As FOX 29's Claudia Gomez reported Tuesday on one local lawmaker who is now trying to overhaul the system that has failed our vets.
What is Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick, Pa. R-8, going to do about it?
Gomez reports that Fitzpatrick has sent a letter to the VA asking for answers by Oct. 31.
It's not clear though whether it will have any impact on how the VA operates, or what will change come Nov. 1.
As for the VA, we're pressing hard for the vets we've profiled and have been told we may get updates on their cases Wednesday.
