Surveillance cameras show the suspect fleeing the scen on foot heading west towards US Highway 41 in Port Charlotte.

Authorities in Charlotte County are asking for the public's help in locating a man who knocked down an elderly woman Friday afternoon while attempting to take her purse.
The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. near the Port Charlotte Cultural Center.
According to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office report deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Aaron St. where they immediately set up a perimeter. A K-9 Unit and an aerial unit assisted a handful of deputies with the search.
A witness described the suspect as being a young Hispanic male with medium-length black hair. He stands 5'6'' to 5'8'' tall and has a slender build. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark blue pants and white tennis shoes.
Investigators say the man fled the scene on foot heading west on US Highway 41.
