A 39-year-old Largo man was arrested Friday on charges stemming from a fatal hit and run crash that occurred in July.
Todd Kershaw was booked into the Pinellas County Jail where he is being held on a bond of $100,000. He is facing one count of leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving a death.
Edin Deleon was struck and killed by a small dark sedan just after 1 a.m. on July 8th. The incident occurred near the intersection of Park Blvd. and 110th Lane in Seminole.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report Detectives identified Kershaw as a suspect and obtained enough evidence to file charges.
On the day of the crash witnesses reported seeing a white male with dark, short hair driving the vehicle that was seen fleeing the scene.
Investigators say Deleon, 24, was not walking in the crosswalk when he was hit. The Seminole resident was struck by a second vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The driver of the second vehicle remained on scene and called for help.
Kershaw has one prior brush with law enforcement in Pinellas County. He was arrested by deputies in May 2008 on a probation violation stemming from a drug-related conviction out of Broward County.
