A local Rays fan found himself playing catch with infielder Elliot Johnson before Thursday's game, and you can thank Twitter for the impromptu toss around.
Before the Rays game last night, Chris Bell tweeted a few of his favorite Rays players wanting to know if they would like to play catch in the parking lot.
"We are in the lot," @ChrisBellTV tweeted at Johnson and David Price. "We have chairs waiting. You want to come out, maybe play catch?"
So Johnson, a fan of the social networking site, responded.
"What lot/section?" he tweeted.
"Red Nissan, extra main lot, row L," Bell tweeted back.
The back and forth went on for a bit, and then eventually Johnson strolled out in uniform pants and a workout shirt for a game of catch.
The two even took a picture together and posted it on Twitter.
A lesson fans: Always bring your glove to the game. You never know what may happen.
