Police investigate deadly SE Atlanta shooting

Atlanta police say a man shot at his girlfriend before fatally shooting himself late Thursday morning outside an apartment complex.

According to investigators, the shooting happened at the Gladstone Apartments located at the 1300 block of Park Avenue in southeast Atlanta. Witnesses said that a woman was forced to run from her boyfriend, who was shooting at her.

Witnesses said the man kicked in doors and opened fire on his girlfriend.

The man put the gun to his head as police closed in, according to witnesses.

The woman was taken away by Atlanta police. Authorities have not said if the woman sustained any injuries during the ordeal.

No names have been released in connection with the shooting, and the incident remains under investigation.
