Local radio talk show host and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Ian Beckles was arrested Thursday night and charged with disorderly intoxication.
Beckles, a sports talk show co-host on 620 WDAE, was arrested around 11 p.m. after a concert at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg as officers were stopping someone for a traffic citation, according to an arrest report.
Officers said Beckles grabbed a mounted patrol horse repeatedly after being asked to stop. Police said Beckles was in the street "highly intoxicated, swaying and slurring his speech."
After speaking to Beckles, officer say he slapped one of them on the back and said, "Hey tough guy" several times. Officers told him to leave, and that's when he walked toward the officers mounted on the horse, police said.
Despite being told not to touch the horse, police say Beckles grabbed the mane of the horse. Police then arrested him.
He posted bond and was released from jail.
