Detectives in Highlands County say a 2-year-old girl who died on Friday had been left in a hot car.
Her father, 34-year-old Christopher King, has been arrested and charged with child neglect.
Paramedics were called to Ryan Road in Sebring where they performed CPR on the toddler, but it was too late. Authorities say the girl died of a heat stroke.
Detectives say King left the girl in the hot car for an extended period of time. He's being held in jail without bond.
