A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was involved in a shooting Monday morning at a cemetery in Pinellas Park.
It happened just before 6 a.m. at the Royal Palm North Cemetery at 2600 Gandy Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Trooper Daniel Cole injured the suspect. Cole, who has been with the FHP for 13 years, was okay.
It's unclear how the incident unfolded or why the suspect was shot. However, the trooper may have been pursuing the suspect because of a stolen motorcycle.
The person was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with undisclosed injuries after the shooting.
The trooper has been placed on administrative leave, as is the standard procedure following trooper-involved shootings.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the incident.
