Deputies found a marijuana grow house on Bruton Rd. similar to this one they found in Valrico last year.PLANT CITY (FOX 13) -
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies responding to a shooting call in Plant City on Saturday also found a dead man and an elaborate marijuana grow house operation.
Another man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg but has refused to cooperate with investigators. The identity of the deceased and the injured man have not been released.
According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report deputies were dispatched to 3220 Bruton Rd. just after 5:30 p.m. A resident called 9-1-1 after finding the man with the gunshot wound sitting at the end of a driveway.
Investigators say the injured man resides at the Bruton Rd. address. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The man did tell deputies about the deceased man inside the home. He was found on the back porch.
When deputies went inside they also discovered the marijuana cultivation operation. Detectives are having a difficult time gathering evidence due to inclement weather.
They have also been unable to establish positive identities for the two men. Due to the elaborate lighting and electrical system employed in the grow house officials with TECO have been called in to assist with the investigation.
The investigation continues and so far no charges have been filed.
