BRADENTON (FOX 13) -

An argument between friends turned violent Friday night in Bradenton.

When it was over one of the men was behind bars and the other in the hospital.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report Gerald Leon Alsupiv and Thomas Allen Bauer got into a verbal argument in the front yard of a home in the 5300 block of 20th St. Court East in Bradenton just before 9 p.m.

Investigators say Bauer, 27, brandished a firearm and shot Alsupiv once in the head as he was getting into his vehicle. The 27-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

Deputies responded to the scene and arrested Bauer without incident.

He was booked into the Manatee County Jail early Saturday morning where he is being held without bond. Bauer is facing a felony charge for the shooting.

He was also charged with violating the terms of a court ruling related to a previous purse snatching case.
