BRADENTON (FOX 13) -
A community came together Friday night to help a neighbor and remember a special little girl -- 4-year-old Daisy Martinez.
Candles flickered as friends and family gathered at the home of Gracie Moreno. Daisy's mother was pulling into her driveway yesterday and somehow hit her daughter.
The little girl was flown to the hospital but doctors couldn't save her.
Friday, those close to the family gathered at the family house to remember the life of the 4-year-old girl and at the same time, show their support for the family -- a family that is struggling both emotionally and financially with this tragedy.
"The family's not doing too well," mourner Anita Casimir offered. "Not only did they lose their child, but they don't have the means to do a proper burial and rest her soul at peace."
Investigators tell us they are looking into the mechanical failure of the car as a cause of the crash.
The car hit the girl and then struck a gate and a utility pole.
