O'Montae Thomas was seriously injured Saturday night near his home in Lakeland.

A three-year-old Lakeland boy was seriously injured Saturday night after he was hit by a car in the 2200 block of Providence Rd.
O'Montae Thomas was airlifted by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
According to a Lakeland Police Department report officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:45 p.m. in response to a vehicle/pedestrian crash.
The release states the child was playing outside when he ran into the street. A 2011 Hyundai, driven by Ella Mack of Winter Haven, struck O'Montae.
Traffic investigators with the Lakeland Police Department were called to the scene to gather information. Mack, 65, was not injured.
No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
