NEW PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) -
A four-year-old girl nearly drowned Saturday afternoon after she fell into a swimming pool at a birthday party in New Port Richey.
The unidentified child was resuscitated by a female nurse at the scene.
According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report the incident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. at 5640 Wellfield Dr. The little girl was quickly pulled from the water by an adult at the party.
The nurse performed CPR on the child prior to emergency medical personnel arriving. As a precaution she was airlifted by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
The child was awake and in good spirits investigators say.
No charges have been filed and the incident has been ruled an accident.
