The Tampa Bay Host Committee has just unveiled an app that will give users the inside scoop on everything RNC, and they say it will be like having a personal tour guide during the convention.
The committee, working with RNC officials, wanted to give visitors an easy way to get around while staying informed.
In a few clicks, you can check local weather, transportation information, directions to popular restaurants and destinations.
And that's just the beginning.
RNC sessions, rallies, and events are posted on the app, if you need to know how or when to get there.
"It's simple and it's easy, and we think it will make their experience better, which hopefully encourages them to come back," explained committee spokesperson Matt Becker.
Greg Ferguson lives in Olds mar. We showed him the new app and he immediately downloaded it on his phone.
"With it being at your fingertips, I think it's quite helpful. For some people, it might be a bit overwhelming, but I think it looks simple enough from the few features I've seen so far," Ferguson said.
On Thursday, we told you about the RNC Go Party Card with dozens of freebies and discounts to local businesses. The app has the discount card programmed, and there's even a scavenger hunt you can play for RNC prizes.
It's a handy, hi-tech tool that keeps you connected at 3G and 4G speeds.
