A 40-year-old Bradenton man spent the night behind bars following his arrest Saturday on aggravated battery charges.
The alleged victim in the case in his live-in girlfriend investigators say.
According to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report the 29-year-old woman contacted deputies Saturday morning after Hasbrouck left their home in the 2600 block of 23rd St. West.
Hasbrouck and the victim had lived together for approximately one month the report states. On Friday night after a night out the couple got into a verbal argument that escalated.
The victim was watching television in the living room of the residence when Hasbrouck allegedly grabbed her arm and dragged her into the bedroom.
Once in the bedroom the suspect pushed the woman against the wall and began slapping and punching her face. The victim attempted to cover up but Hasbrouck knocked her to the ground investigators say.
The suspect allegedly told the victim she was not allowed to get up. She remained in the bedroom for the rest of the night out of concern for her safety.
Hasbrouck eventually left the home and the victim went for help. After receiving a tip as to the whereabouts of the suspect Hasbrouck was picked up and arrested.
He was booked into the Manatee County Jail on one count of aggravated domestic battery and one count of false imprisonment.
