Monday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert for 17-year-old Morgan Martin.
Investigators fear the St. Petersburg teenager's life is in danger. Morgan is four months pregnant and has been missing for almost two weeks.
"After three days, we knew," family friend Ann Orr told FOX 13. "We knew it after 24 hours. We knew it was serious."
Orr says she is like a second mother to Morgan, but she feels the concern now like the teenager is her own.
"Everyone is really worried and now we're at the point where we're scared. We're even saying we need some kind of closure—whatever it may be," Orr said.
"Every day you wonder what's going to happen. and you just.. it just breaks your heart not knowing what's going on." says close friend Charity Orr, who was supposed to take Morgan to the doctor for a four-month pregnancy check up the day she disappeared.
"I couldn't get a hold of her. By 12 that afternoon, something was wrong. Something had to be wrong. That's how out of the ordinary that is." Charity says.
Friends and family are passing out flyers, hoping someone will recognize Morgan's picture and tell them where she is.
"Everyone is really worried and now we're at the point where we're scared. We're even saying we need some kind of closure - whatever it may be." Ann Orr, family friend says.
"We strongly believe something bad has happened here. We just don't know what it is." Mike Puetz, St. Pete Police says.
St. Pete Police and now the Florida Department of Law Enforcement believe Morgan's life is in danger.
They've issued a missing child alert and are now searching for her statewide.
"We do not think she ran away. We think that she's either being kept against her will, was abducted potentially, or potentially worse." Puetz says.
Investigators say they are questioning the father of morgan's baby, along with several other people who know her. But part of what's so troubling is that she left without her purse. She has no I.D., no money, no change of clothes. All she had was her cell phone. Her family and friends pray that she'll call. But so far, their prayers have not been answered.
Morgan was last seen wearing a hot pink hooded jaceket with fur around the collar, gray sweatpants and pink fuzzy slippers. If you know anything at all that could help find her, call the St. Petersburg Police Department.
