TAMPA (FOX 13) -
With the 2012 National Football League Season just around the corner, Bay area residents flocked to Raymond James Stadium Saturday to get a glimpse at the Buccaneers.
Players and coaches started signing autographs for fans at 4 p.m. That was followed by a team practice under the lights.
The upcoming campaign will be Tampa Bay's first under Greg Schiano. Expectations are high following a good draft that landed University of Alabama safety Mark Barron.
Saturday's practice also featured an intra-squad scrimmage under the lights for Buccaneer fans of all ages. The event was free and fireworks capped the night.
The team also announced they are donating $3,500 to the Brandon Lions Youth Football organization. The group recently had its concession stand damaged by vandals.
On Friday night the Bucs will play their first game under Schiano when they travel across the state to play the Miami Dolphins.
The team will make their home debut on Friday, August 17th when they play host to the Tennessee Titans.
