Kimbrough, 32, was arrested at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday.A 32-year-old Polk County man is facing a slew of charges following his arrest Saturday morning by law enforcement officers near Lakeland.
Joshua Adam Kimbrough suffered two puncture wounds during apprehension just after 10 a.m. by K-9 units with the Lakeland Police Department and Polk County Sheriff's Office.
He was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Once he is given medical clearance Kimbrough will be transported to the Lakeland Police Department for questioning.
According to a LPD report officers were dispatched to 1117 N. Stella Ave. at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday in response to a domestic violence call. When they arrived they found a 26-year-old white female who had suffered burns to her upper body.
The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
A preliminary investigation identified Kimbrough as a suspect in the incident. Several minutes later an unidentified white male matching his description committed an armed carjacking in the parking lot of a convenience store on East Memorial Blvd.
Just before 8:30 p.m. investigators say Kimbrough burglarized a residence on Fenton Lane. He also allegedly used a stolen credit card from that crime at a nearby gas station 45 minutes later.
After interviewing witnesses and acquaintances of the suspect he was located and taken into custody. The vehicle stolen during the armed carjacking on Friday night was also recovered.
The investigation continues and charges against Kimbrough are pending. This is not the suspect's first brush with law enforcement. On New Year's Day he was arrested near Orlando on a lewd and lascivious exhibition charge.
